Since the Homestead has moved to North Central Vermont, the product emphasis has changed. There have been some gains, and there have been some loses. We have more land to work with planting and harvesting. But we have left behind the fruit and berry trees/bushes. This year’s production of veggies required for our famous Vegan Kimchee will be larger, meaning we will be bringing more quarts to each market! Because we will not have the fresh fruit from our homestead, the sale of cherries, peaches, plums, nectarines, blackberries, & raspberries will not be happening. In communication with some orchards, we will be purchasing large quantities of fruit to make our famous Honey-Ginger Preserves! The price will need to rise from $10 to $11 per jar to help cover this additional expense. Concerning our most famous preserve, the Honey-Ginger Cranberry, I have contacted someone who also has been growing the high bush cranberries and will be making visits this late summer and early fall for picking. We still have about 65 lbs of frozen cranberries from our last harvest, meaning 468 jars of Preserve!
